Katie Musolff, 2010 Artist-in-Residence at the Pfister Hotel, is known for portraiture that conveys far more than just the physical likeness of her subjects. In this one-day workshop, she addresses the formal issues that go into making a successful portrait. Working from a live model, participants strengthen their skills in finding proportion, mixing the flesh tones and creating a portrait that extends beyond the simple features of the sitter, to capture the essence of their personality. Students may elect to work in oil or acrylic.
